ABOUT CODEHS

Our Story

Community Development and Humanitarian services, abbreviated (CODEHS) is a Development, Non Governmental, nonprofit making organization (DNGNO).  It was conceived in 2017, and recognized on the 29th October 2021, with its head office located at mile three (3) Nkwen, Bamenda. It has  an authorization number 51/E.29/1111/VOL.8/ALPAS, in conformity with the provision of law NO 90/053 of 19th December 1990 governing the creation of associations.  CODEHS mission statement is to promote and fortify the young to exploit their potentials and boost sustainable development in all axes, for a resilient and better society. CODEHS seeks to achieve this aim via proactive approach, by liaising with organizations of good will, in other to concert ideas and strengthen her capacity geared towards community development.

    CODEHS believes that the future of our mother planet Earth, and its capacity to support thriving diversity including man, lies in our hands. Its sustainability can only be attained by concerting socio-economic and environmental clues as a prerequisite to societal development, in response to conflict management situation. This goes in line with her motto: Use simple solutions to solve complex problems”.

   CODEHS focused on integrated sustainable societal transformation.  The main aim is to assist the Cameroon government’s actions, to encourage and empower her citizens to exploit their potentials thus reducing poverty and improve lives. She ensures resiliency in exploitation for future generation. On a nutshell, in other to achieve her vision of integrated sustainable rural and urban development, CODEHS enrolled in seven Programs for the start which propel her to reach these goals as follow;

Our Impact

Over the course of the CODEHS lifetime, we have achieved some major milestones worth mentioning:
  • CODEHS staff has built the capacity of its member by undertaking training and mentorship under SHUMAS and CAMGEW  to enamble us provide humanitarian services and promote gender and environmental sustainability.
  • CODEHS has provided humanitarian assistance to vulnerable communities in the form of nutrition education, social cohesion activities, and participation in community development works.
  • CODEHS has empowered women through educative talks on farm management and provision of farm inputs.
  • CODEHS has promoted peacebuilding by organizing local peace forums and encouraging the youth to participate in community development works.
  • CODEHS has supported livelihoods and entrepreneurship by encouraging and following up on individual initiatives and promoting school organic family farming.
  • CODEHS has raised awareness about climate change by encouraging the young to plant trees in grassroots communities.
  • CODEHS has improved education by participating in community schools and promoting a functional school environment.
